Taking My Magazine to the iPad

The videos that Marty featured on the Type 2 blog are about the transition that journalism is currently undergoing. Along with a website and print, Wired now has the addition of a new kind of user experience via the iPad. With the iPad the user is allowed to navigate through the magazine in numerous ways (vertically/horizontally) and experience motion within pages that would ordinarily be static in the notion of ink. Esquire, the second video, demonstrates how the user can easily navigate through the content. I think after watching these videos it is important to take into consideration that simplicity in navigating is the best way to go; the user has to be able to navigate naturally with ease. Too many bells and whistles will only overwhelm the user rather than impress them.
